It's pretty easy to fake "perfect" skin behind the mask of a spray tan, but in the Fall we can no longer rely on a golden glow or bronzy cheeks to keep our skin looking radiant. Enter, anxiety! The time has come for our natural skin tone to show, but pale can be a hard look to pull of if your skin isn't quite up to par. So, what's the secret to bright, fresh, plump skin sans a golden glow? Vitamin C babe! When we are young our skin is naturally full of Vitamin C, but then went go to College and layed out in the sun (or ick, a tanning bed), smoked cigarettes and forgot to sleep for 4 years, which eventually left us with lower skin elasticity, age spots and fine lines. Luckily, with the help of the powerful antioxidants in topical Vitamin C serums we can replenish our skin and even reverse the effects of time on our face.

To keep my skin glowing throughout the winter, I use Obagi - C cleansing gel and Obagi professional serum - 15%  (if you have super dry skin go for 10%, oily skin go for the 20%). After the first application you will notice that your skin feels smoother and more hydrated. I mean, who doesn't live for instant gratification? ... and if you keep the love affair going, your skin will appear more radiant as the vitamin C begins balancing out skin tone and counteracting wrinkle formation by increasing collagen production. It's expensive, but you only need a few drops each morning and if you are going to splurge on something for your skin, Vitamin C should be at the top of the list. A bottle lasts me around 6 months. Check out more reviews of the serum here. Bright, glowing skin this winter... I like, love it.
