enough drama already

At one point or another we have all sinned and paired a heavy eye, with a heavy lip. Accidents happen, but in order to grow, we must learn from our mistakes. So... from now on, no matter what the trend, or the season, or the number of glasses of wine you have had, you must promise yourself that it is going to be one or the other. My friend and fav photog Abby Warhola and I have been creating lots together lately. Our most recent collab was with Nars Cosmetics and another one of my girlfriends Breanna, who I should add is beautiful inside and out! I was thinking British, boyish, cloudy-ish and nude... lips.

Tips for Nude Lips:

Unless you are perfectly olive like Breanna, it is hard to pull off nude lips that are matte. Try using a nude color with some sheen (a.k.a Sheer or Satin lipsticks).
Don't get arrested. Sampling colors at the drug store is hard, but no need to open up the packages and go to jail over this. Just hold the color up to your face and if it matches your skin, it is a no. You need the color to pop off your face a bit. Make sure you are thinking "oh this is pink compared to my skin or orange"... but, which color is best?...
A basic rule of thumb for picking a shade based on your skin tone: - If you are Natalie Portman (Pale): Go for a pink undertone - If you are Kim Kardashian (Olive): Go for an orange or peach undertone - If you are Beyonce (Tan/Golden): Go for a light beige undertone
Nude lips are a classic. They aren't going anywhere and therefore it is probably worth going to Sephora or doing some hard-core Google Images research on your celebrity look-alike. Take the time and figure it out, because once you get it right... it is SO GOOD.
