I have never really been on board with the notion of coloring your hair darker in the winter. Unless you have the complexion of a 7-year-old, or you are Camilla Belle, or just so happen to have spent your early years under a rock and have yet to be kissed by the sun, the contrast of dark hair against fair skin is a very difficult look to pull off. I am not saying it can't be done, it absolutely can. My girlfriend Julia Sloan pulls it off like no other, but as for me... it's tough times. I end up with St. Tropez Self Tanner all over my body, all winter long, and then I am disappointed that my entire look feels contrived. Urg! For the majority of us, I think we are better off going lighter in the winter, keeping the contrast of skin and hair slight and then going all Adriana Lima (dark hair and skin) in the summer. Speaking of Victoria Secret Models, I was lucky enough to have Lena Ott, the woman behind Doutzen's and Behati's amazing hair color do mine. Lena, who I am love with, just opened her first salon in Soho, Suite Caroline - you must go! Oh and jot down that name because you will be saying it as often as Frederic Fekkai in no time!

On my face I used Weleda Skin Food followed by NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in Groenland applied with my new Mac 130 Short Fiber Duo Brush, I cannot get enough of this sucker. I will warn you... it is not a go to brush if you are in a rush, but if you really want some solid coverage (especially, if you are only using a tinted moisturizer) this guy is a must. It allows you to literally push the makeup in place where you would like it, opposed to swooping it all over. Next, I added an all time fav, Nars Creamy Concealer in Custard, which I apply with my finger and is almost perfectly creaseless and finally, CK One Pure Color Lipstick in Must DO.
