The most annoying text message you will ever receive... the single letter "k". A girlfriend of mine is dating a guy, ok "dating" is probably a stretch, but they text ALL day long and she did travel to another state to visit him and they did hook up. Anyway, shortly after her visit the dude went on a guys trip and was being a bit "shady", which is actually what I consider normal behavior for a guys trip. Regardless, my girlfriend was freaking out. She was literally analyzing every single word he wrote and the time that passed in between those words. Thank God for another girlfriend of mine who chimed into the group text and said, "listen babe leave him alone and if you really want to get his attention just respond "k" to the next story he tells you". Uhm. Who. Knew. When my girlfriend sent the conversation that followed her "k" response I felt as if the dude had morphed into a different guy. Suddenly he was interested... attentive... ALIVE.
"K"... it's like: wait, are you mad at me? Or are you so inundated with text that you don't have time to respond to me? But time out. Who is more important to you than I am? Or are you just so in love with me that you are subtly attacking me via text? Why am I instantly furious?
Ahhh "K" the single letter that says so little, yet so much. xxb
