A lace dress can be read a lot of ways: bohemian, elegant, grandma, slutty, etc. so lets discuss a few guidelines. I think it's all about keeping the silhouette somewhat simple and the color at least somewhat neutral. Avoid anything neon... (actually, lets just avoid neon all together for the time being.. lace or no lace). Also, keep an eye on the quality... lace can get cheap looking quick. Finally, I would steer clear of super short. Your outfit basically has holes in it so you can show a little less leg on lace day! The For Love & Lemons dress I am wearing here did come with a slip, but instead I paired it with high-waisted Spanx and a bandeau bra, which left me baring about 3 inches of midriff but... the best three inches (you know the skinny part right under your chest, which is basically ribs). Anyway, losing the slip felt fresher, less contrived and just more me. I want literally everything in the products below and don't worry it's not too late for lace. I plan on wearing mine into the Fall. I don't do tights, but how chic will our lace dresses be in the winter with a fur. xxb
