For the past 4 years my hair extensions have run my show. I have been religious about having them taken out and put back in, every three months (same day, of course). I was more dependent on them than a meth addict is on... well... meth. Hahaha, Not funny. My point is, I was infatuated, dependent, crazy in love, and like any addiction, it took a true intervention to change my ways. I just so happen to have booked an appointment for a blow-out at RPZL, which I thought was just another blow out bar (we have one of those on every other block in NYC). RPZL is much, much more than that. And if you have hair extensions, want hair extensions, or just hate your hair sometimes... you are going to want to know them.
Upon arrival, the faux hair gurus took one look at my "tape in's" and were like, "Ok, these are pulling on your hair and MUST come out TODAY". Not that "tape in's" are bad for your hair. They are actually fine if they are placed and removed with the proper care, but my hair grows like a damn weed, which means a month in... the extensions are already pulling/damaging my natural hair. After 4 years of this, I am sure you can imagine that I only have like 10 strands of real hair left to work with. BUT.... what the hell was I going to do? Walk in for a blow out and out with baby fine bun?! Uhm, HELL NO. And my new gurus weren't even suggesting that, which is why I love them so much. They told me my hair needed a vacation, which would consist of "Even Happier Hair Treatments" each month - for six months, all of which would be spent without out my "tape in's" and replaced with "clip in" extensions. So I wouldn't be sleeping in extensions, or working out in extensions, so on and so forth.
It has been a month and I now have 12 strands of real hair! Hahaha just kidding. I can't tell a huge difference yet, but I am truly LOVING the convience of not having something attached to me at all times. Not to mention all the time I save each day as it only takes me 3 minutes to blow dry my entire head of hair ;) I can wear my "security blanket clips" when I want to and truly believe my hair is getting healthier by the minute!
Last thing, RPZL has the best prices that I have seen for "tape ins" ($350 half head, $550 full head) and 'keratin bonds" ($550 half head, $850 full head). My clips (which can be shipped to you) were $250 and it's the best hair quality I have found to date. Call them! 212.255.0036 xxB
