It has been said (by Dr. Lisa Arian in VOGUE) that if you have nice skin and GREAT eyebrows, you can get away with a lot of other things (those other "things" being your facial flaws).... ok, basically... our brows "frame" our face and therefore, they play a huge role in our overall appearance. When it comes to brows, I have three words for you Sania's Brow Bar. At least three beauty editors swore to me, on different occasions, that this chick was the Queen B of brows... they weren't kidding. If you live in New York City, you are in luck my dears, start calling NOW and call, and call, and call until someone answers, and then show up whenever they tell you to. Even with an appointment, you will be waiting in line, so charge your phone in advance. Yes, the appointment will cost you $65, but it's not just a tweezing session. Sania has instructions, questions for you and will have you hold a mirror while she teaches you everything she knows.  So have an espresso, take your adderall (or whatever you need to do to keep alert), but pay attention because girlfriend works quickly and your appointment will not last more than 15 minutes, tops. Following my first appointment with Sania people where asking me what I had done (as in what work I had done... as in surgery), which proves the power of the brow. Here are a few tips I learned from Sania:

eyebrow-tips
eyebrow-tips
  1. Hold up a pencil verically touching the side of your nose. The point where the pencil hits on your forehead is where your brow should start. Chicks always seem to over tweeze the center area (area between the brows). uhmmm stop
  2. Next, move the pencil to the center of your brow. This is where the arch should be.
  3. Finally, move the pencil to the edge of your brow. The line from the edge of your nose to the outer corner of your eye is where your brow should end.

More maintenance rules from Sania:

  1. Brush your brows directly upwards and trim them. It sounds strange but trust, it makes them look so much bigger. It might be the MOST important tip of them all as sometimes when peeps eyebrows grow long, they are inclined to tweeze them away. Obviously, this is an awful idea because you are not only losing the length, but ALL of the thickness as well. And go easy with the trimming, killer... I am sure you have learned the lesson, at some point throughout your adolescence, that when it comes to a trim... slow and steady wins the race.
  2. DO NOT put lotion on your eyebrows. It clogs the hair folical and will prevent them from growing. Obviously, most people don't sit around lotioning their brows, but most people also do not realize how much of their night cream is actually clogging all of their brow folicals .... ah yeah.
  3. When picking a pencil shade, pick the color that matches the darkest tone in your hair and always pick one with a brush so that you can blend. Plus, brushing your browns stimulates growth, so that's a bonus.

My pencil suggestion is the Chanel Crayon Sourcils (I am shade 40). It's 29 bucks, but it seriously lasts forever (aka around 4 months) so I wouldn't worry too much about the price. I mean its cheaper than surg, no?!

Sania also came out with a Brow Pencil that I need to order this second. I also have a ton of girlfriends that swear by Dior's Pencil. If anyone has tried either of these, please let me know. It's the least you can do after all help I just gave you. kiss.
