AND I WAS LIKE

a pop of cherry

As I mentioned in my last post, when it comes to Spring 2014 we will have a choice when it comes to beauty trends, the glossy eye or the bold lip. Lots of designers chose orange, but at Monique Lhuillier, MAC Cosmetics Lead Makeup Artist, Val Garland created a too-cute cherry stained lip. As if you are the most adorable person on the planet and just finished eating a bowl of cherries that you hand-picked, and the stain left on your lips is bold, yet natural with edges that are undefined. To achieve this, the color was tapped into the center of the lips to keep the look remaining soft and not too over done. The key here is to keep the pigment in the middle of the lips so the edges remain feminine. It's definitely fresh looking opposed to an old-fashioned lined lip, ewww.

The look was created using MAC Huggable Lip Color in Cherry Glaze, a stain that goes on shiny but dries to a beautiful matte finish and is not available... YET, but we all need to buy it the day it comes out. Oh, how I long to wear these lips with a t-shirt and jeans and cannot even bare to think about which starlet will strut down the red carpet in Look 23 and a cherry stained pout.

If your lips are bold in Spring 2014, your skin and eyes should be kept clean and natural. Create this look by using:

***Add

Mac Mixing Medium Shine

to the cheekbones to create the dewy look. Keep your eyes clean and mascara-free, just use concealer, prime and prepped transparent finishing powder and brush your brows upwards and set them with the clear gel

The basic red pigment is available now and if you are one of those people who need instant gratification you can grab Mac's Sheen Supreme Lipstick in New Temptation (below) to create a similar effect. Remember to apply to the center of the lip only and spread to the edges with your finger. xb
