We did it! We made it to Brooklyn, in the freezing cold, in the midst of fashion week. We lived to talk about it and we are still doing just that... It was a cold, stormy, night in February. Okay fine, it wasn't storming, but it was way too cold when Alexander Wang requested the presence of fashion's elite in Brooklyn for his Fall 2014 Show. What seemed like a nightmare destination, turned out to be shockingly well-organized and sort of, no big deal. Not only did our mini road trip create a bit of anticipation, but it also gave everyone (we had been seeing day after day, show after show) something new to gossip about...
The hair, which was inspired by an illustration via Alex was side swept and masculine. There won't be a "how to" because honestly no one is pulling that look off.
The makeup was minimal and clean. The face felt raw as brows were bleached. We haven't been seeing much contouring backstage. It's all about showing off your natural, flawless skin. Leave it to Nars, who just so happens to make my favorite concealer of all time to create an amazing, foundation free face. Nars lead makeup artist Diane Kindel said "The look focuses on 'pure' beauty – it’s all about lightness and the shadows between." Are you reading this? Pure. Natural. Minimal. HELLO. Lasers. Now. Immediately. Yesterday. If we get involved now, by the Fall all we will need is our Pure Radiant Concealer and our Copacabana Illuminator and we will be the coolest girls around... or in Brooklyn anyway. Alexander Wang said so.
